Welcome to threadmark - an account of what I am currently making . . . and the injuries sustained along the way.

So what is a threadmark? Well technically it's that coloured thread incorporated into bank notes to make counterfeiting difficult. However, in my experience a threadmark is actually a painful cut caused by sewing thread dragged repeatedly across long-suffering fingers.

My name is Katy and I live in New Zealand. I like formica tables, sharp tools, fabric (especially felt) solvents and words. I intensely dislike hypocrisy and the colours peppermint and royal blue.
